Lumio worked with an engineering and estimating services firm that had a service that applied to contractors in every trade and region across the country. Even with such a big ICP they had no way to reach that market at scale. With over 1.7 million U.S. construction firms in their addressable market, the opportunity was massive. The constraint wasn't demand; it was reach and repeatability. Manual prospecting couldn't scale past a trickle, there was no central enriched database to work from, and any real volume of outreach risked deliverability problems with no system in place to track or follow up.
Lumio partnered with this client to build a nationwide contractor-acquisition engine from the ground up. A 100,000+ contractor database segmented by trade, location, and buying signals, paired with automated, multi-channel outreach across email and LinkedIn. Every layer, from lead sourcing to deliverability to CRM reporting, was built, run, and optimized as one coordinated system, turning a fragmented national market into a structured, repeatable pipeline.

What we did:
Building the database
We sourced and enriched a database of over 100,000 contractors and subcontractors across all 50 states, segmented by trade, CSI division, company size, location, and project type. Buying signals, active bids, hiring activity, and expansion news were considered buying signals to prioritize outreach towards the contractors most likely to convert, rather than working the list in a flat, unordered sequence.
Standing up the infrastructure
Before outreach began, we built a dedicated sending infrastructure isolated from the client's primary domain, with SPF, DKIM, and DMARC enforced on every domain and automated mailbox warmup running through Instantly. Inbox rotation across the mailbox pool kept sending volume safe at scale, holding inbox placement above 90% with a bounce rate under 2%.
